Mission Statement - Interdealer Broker Advisory Committee:
In view of the integral role that interdealer brokers perform in facilitating liquid and efficient markets, and in recognition of the central role played by our Members within those markets, the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association has established an Interdealer Broker Advisory Committee. The mission of the Interdealer Broker Advisory Committee is as follows:
- To facilitate and support the continued efficient growth and development of the capital markets generally;
- To establish and promote adoption of recommended business standards and practices among market participants, as appropriate;
- To enhance market efficiency, liquidity and transparency;
- To represent the interests of interdealer broker market participants in connection with significant legal, regulatory, legislative and other policy matters;
- To promote the exchange of information, education and opinions in a manner that helps to establish greater awareness and understanding of the role of interdealer brokers, and to build greater knowledge, trust and confidence in this integral role in the capital markets; and
- To work cooperatively and constructively with other market constituencies and organizations in the United States and abroad, as may be appropriate, in pursuing the mission outlined above.

SIFMA Finalizes Policy Statement and Guidelines Regarding Error Trade Policies for Interdealer Brokers; Issues Educational Piece Explaining Role of Interdealer Brokers
The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association today finalized its policy statement and guidelines regarding error trade policies for interdealer brokers. The policy statement was developed by SIFMA’s Interdealer Brokers Advisory Committee and issued as an exposure draft for industry comment in December, 2006.
